Them? Yes &lt;u&gt;them&lt;/u&gt;, because there were apparently two brothers of Greek origin who were famous photographers in roughly the period of the 1860s through 1880s. Their initials were G. and C., and their work was simply signed Zangaki. They specialised in images of Egypt and Palestine and worked, I read, out of Port Said. Miembro del grupo "Photo-Secession desde 1904, optó por retratar la ciudad a diferencia de otros de los componentes del grupo, que se especializaron en retratos, desnudos y paisajes más típicos de la fotografía pictorialista.&lt;br /&gt;Junto con Steichen y Stieglitz entre otros, encontraba sus temas fotográficos en los puentes y los rascacielos, consecuencia de la vitalidad de la vida urbana durante los primeros años del siglo XX. Consideraba la cámara como el único instrumento, y la fotografía el único medio capaz de retener los constantes cambios de la ciudad moderna.&lt;br /&gt;La variedad de su temática animó las actividades del grupo Secession durante sus primeros años, a pesar de sus constantes viajes a Inglaterra. Aunque su fuerte eran las platinotipias y copias en goma bicromatada también trabajó el grabado, de tal manera que en 1909 abrió su propia imprenta en Londres.&lt;br /&gt;Utilizó una visión abstracta, nunca antes utilizada. Publicó libros sobre sus fotograbados. Pero a partir de 1917 su nueva afición por la fotografía mística y religiosa le hizo apartarse de la línea con la que se hizo famoso. Por entonces era un diseñador gráfico y un fotógrafo consumado, formado en la Escuela de Artes Aplicadas de Stuttgart, y en los talleres de Walter Peterhans privada al principio y luego en la Bauhaus de Dessau. La mayoría de los trabajos de Grete en Alemania se llevó a cabo en el estudio de pozo ringl había establecido con su amiga Ellen Auerbach, y ha sido recientemente entusiasmo evaluados por los críticos europeos y americanos, así como por los estudiosos. Pero el grueso de su producción - como a la importancia y la cantidad se llevó a cabo en nuestro país durante casi cincuenta años de actividad ininterrumpida. Su obra, notable en la calidad y la variedad de géneros, no habían sido recogidos en forma de libro ni descritos y revisada, tal como se comprometió en este volumen. Grete Stern, formado en la vanguardia de refinado, creativo europeo de los años veinte, es un artista esencial en la fotografía argentina moderna, y ha contribuido de manera decisiva la fundación de ella.&lt;br /&gt;En 1948 recibió una propuesta original: el suministro de fotografías para ilustrar una sección de la revista Idilio, editada por Abril, titulado "El psicoanálisis le ayudara" (El psicoanálisis te ayudará). Editado por el sociólogo Gino Germani de bajo seudónimo de Richard Rest, que transmite puntos de vista psicoanalítico en los sueños de sus corresponsales en las mujeres. Grete propuso que ilustra los sueños con fotomontajes. Su colaboración duró alrededor de tres años, en el curso de los cuales más de ciento cincuenta piezas fueron publicados. Para nuestro conocimiento, esta es la serie más grande y más importante de fotomontajes realizados en nuestro país.&lt;br /&gt;Es un hecho reconocido que el fotomontaje moderno, desarrollado en Alemania después de la Primera Guerra Mundial, se aplicó a la propaganda política, la publicidad y la fotografía experimental. Grete absorbido por primera vez durante su aprendizaje como diseñador gráfico y luego como fotógrafo. Como ya se mencionó, se trataba de un procedimiento creativo que encontró atractivo y estimulante. Hasta el momento de su serie Idilio, fotomontajes de Grete en la Argentina habían sido escasas y ocasionales.&lt;br /&gt;Los textos que describen los sueños a ser ilustrado por Grete fueron proporcionados por Germani. Por lo general, estrictamente reproduce las cartas enviadas por los lectores. Grete y Germani utiliza para hablar de interpretación con objeto de la carta, y le pediría que la disposición muestran ciertas características, que las flores o animales, ser representado o formas inestables o algunas cifras realizar determinadas acciones. Desde allí Grete desarrollará su creación combinatoria y su propio punto de vista sobre el tema, que dio lugar a piezas de la invención bastante libre.&lt;br /&gt;Cada fotomontaje fue publicado con el título: "Sueños de Ambición", "Máscara de los sueños", "Sueños de descontento", y así sucesivamente, además de un comentario escrito por Germani. Los comentarios que se refiere a la imagen compuesta por Grete como si fuera un literal la ilustración del sueño descrito por el lector, sobre la base de que Germani producido interpretaciones y recomendaciones.&lt;br /&gt;El carácter de liderazgo en los fotomontajes fue, por supuesto Idilio de lector - corresponsal de Germani - que pertenecían a las clases más bajas en nuestro país, especialmente la clase media en ascenso de los primeros años del presidente Perón en el poder. Ese personaje femenino está presente en las imágenes, ya sea explícita o implícitamente: toma parte en su propio sueño o "mira por el visor, como ocurre en la grabación de películas subjetiva.&lt;br /&gt;El tema se originó en los sueños Germani resultó ser la más interesante para su análisis, y entre estos los principales Lythe enfatizando angustia y conflicto. Grete idea de la independencia de la mujer es muy fuerte, y su actitud crítica con respecto a los valores dominantes de restricción y limitación de que era una parte de su idiosincrasia. La posibilidad de expresar sus puntos de vista sobre estas cuestiones a través de sus fotomontajes tanto, llegó natural a ella.&lt;br /&gt;...&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Los sueños de Grete fueron por primera vez presenta como independiente de las fotografías antes de finales de los años cincuenta en la Facultad de Ciencias Psicológicas de la Universidad de La Plata. Se les muestra por primera vez en Buenos Aires en 1967, con la colaboración del poeta Elva de Loizaga. Desde entonces hasta 1982, cuando se colgó en la feria FotoFest gran Hous en EE.UU., sólo el coleccionista de arte Jorge Helft tomó nota de ellos. noviembre"&gt;24 de noviembre&lt;/a&gt; de &lt;a href="http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/1946" title="1946"&gt;1946&lt;/a&gt;) fue un &lt;a href="http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fot%C3%B3grafo" title="Fotógrafo"&gt;fotógrafo&lt;/a&gt; y &lt;a href="http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pintura_art%C3%ADstica" title="Pintura artística" class="mw-redirect"&gt;pintor&lt;/a&gt; húngaro. Ha pasado a la historia como uno de los más importantes profesores y teóricos del arte y de la fotografía desde su trabajo en la &lt;a href="http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Escuela_de_la_Bauhaus" title="Escuela de la Bauhaus"&gt;Escuela de la Bauhaus&lt;/a&gt; alemana. Durante su labor en ella estuvo acompañado de su mujer, &lt;a href="http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lucia_Moholy" title="Lucia Moholy"&gt;Lucia Moholy&lt;/a&gt; (nacida Schulz), a la que había conocido anteriormente en &lt;a href="http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Berl%C3%ADn" title="Berlín"&gt;Berlín&lt;/a&gt; y que era una discreta pero excelente fotógrafa.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/p&gt;Nació en 1895 en Bácsborsard, Hungría meridional.&lt;br /&gt;Aunque el artista húngaro Moholy-Nagy no se consideraba a sí mismo en realidad fotógrafo, sino pintor, hoy es considerado como un innovador y como uno de los pioneros de la fotografía de los años veinte.&lt;br /&gt;En un principio se propuso realizar una carrera de jurista, que en realidad resultó interrumpida por la Primera Guerra Mundial. En 1914, fue enrolado en el ejercito austro-húngaro.&lt;br /&gt;   &lt;br /&gt;Durante una permanencia en un hospital militar, en 1915, el artista hizo sus primeros dibujos a la tiza y a la tinta china. Después de la guerra, decidió dedicarse completamente al arte, y abandonó sus estudios de derecho.&lt;br /&gt;En 1920, se instaló en Berlín, donde estableció contactos con el círculo “Sturm”, con los dadaístas y constructivistas. Allí encontró también a la que más tarde sería su esposa, Lucia Schulz, con la que trabajó durante los años siguientes en interesantes experimentos fotográficos. Especialmente sus fotogramas, cuyos primeros ejemplares datan del otoño de 1922, se hicieron muy famosos.&lt;br /&gt;En 1923, fue llamado por Walter Gropius a la Bauhaus de Wreimar. Allí se hizo cargo primeramente del taller de trabajos en metal, y más tarde pasó a dirigir el curso preparatorio, cuando Johannes Itten decidió abandonar la Bauhaus. Si bien en aquella época no existía una clase especifica de fotografía –que sólo fue creada con el nombramiento de Walter Peterhans, en 1929-, Moholy-Nagy es considerado como un precursor en ese campo y se convirtió en el representante por excelencia de la fotografía Bauhaus.&lt;br /&gt;   &lt;br /&gt;   &lt;br /&gt;Su publicación “Pintura, Fotografía, Film”, aparecida en 1925, y que constituye el octavo volumen de los “Libros de la Bauhaus”, es uno de los principales pilares de esa reputación. Fue el primer texto orientador publicado por la Bauhaus sobre el tema fotografía. En el se proponía esclarecer las relaciones entre la pintura y la fotografía, tomando partido por una franca demarcación entre las dos disciplinas.&lt;br /&gt;El artista clasificaba a la pintura como un medio para dar forma al color, mientras que veía en la fotografía un instrumento para la investigación y la exposición del fenómeno luz. Para él, no se trataba de un medio perfecto para intensificar la visión humana – como se afirmaba frecuentemente durante los años veinte -, sino de una nueva materia artística.&lt;br /&gt;Así, en su libro “Pintura, Fotografía, Film”, Moholy-Nagy acuñaba el concepto de la fotoplástica, determinante en sus fotomontajes. En ese contexto, explicaba lo siguiente: “Se trata del acoplamiento de diversas fotografías, de una (...) tentativa metódica de representación simultánea: superposición de juego de palabras y visuales; una fusión extraña e inquietante, a nivel imaginario, de los procedimientos imitativos más realistas. Por ellos pueden al mismo tiempo narrar algo, ser sólidos y concretos, &lt;más&gt;.”&lt;br /&gt;Después del traslado de la Bauhaus a Dessau, en 1926, Moholy-Nagy todavía enseño allí durante dos años, antes de instalarse en Berlín en 1928. Al año siguiente tomó parte en el montaje de la célebre exposición del Deutsche Werkbund “Film y fotografía” (FIFO) en Stuttgart, donde estaba representado personalmente por 97 fotografías, fotoplásticas y fotogramas. Emigra a Amsterdam en 1934, y de allí pasó a establecerse en Londres. En 1937 partió hacia Chicago, donde ejerció el cargo de director de una joven escuela de diseño de la Asociación de Artes y de la Industria, que él rebautizó como Nueva Bauhaus. La institución cerró sus puertas un año mas tarde. En 1939 fundó su propia escuela de diseño, en colaboración con otros artistas.&lt;br /&gt;Además de su obra artística, Moholy-Nagy dejó una obra teórica considerable, en el cual se confronta con cuestiones relativas tanto a la pintura como a la fotografía, y en la que refleja su constante preocupación para lograr que se reconozca a ésta ultima la condición de autentico medio de expresión artística. Muere en Chicago en 1946. Aunque su verdadera pasión fue la pintura, hoy en día es recordado como uno de los mejores &lt;a href="http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fot%C3%B3grafo" title="Fotógrafo"&gt;fotógrafos&lt;/a&gt; de los años 20, pionero en este campo. También fue profesor en la escuela &lt;a href="http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Escuela_de_la_Bauhaus" title="Escuela de la Bauhaus"&gt;Bauhaus&lt;/a&gt;.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;La &lt;a href="http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/I_Guerra_Mundial" title="I Guerra Mundial" class="mw-redirect"&gt;I Guerra Mundial&lt;/a&gt; estalló mientras Moholy-Nagy desarrollaba sus estudios de jurista, y hubo de abandonarlos para alistarse en el ejército de su país. Durante los años que duró el conflicto bélico, empezó a dar sus primeros pasos artísticos, con algunos trabajos enfocados en dibujos a la &lt;a href="http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tiza" title="Tiza"&gt;tiza&lt;/a&gt; y a la &lt;a href="http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tinta_china" title="Tinta china"&gt;tinta china&lt;/a&gt;. Una vez terminó la &lt;a href="http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/I_Guerra_Mundial" title="I Guerra Mundial" class="mw-redirect"&gt;I Guerra Mundial&lt;/a&gt;, abandonó sus estudios de &lt;a href="http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Derecho" title="Derecho"&gt;Derecho&lt;/a&gt; y se dedicó por completo al arte.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;h3&gt; &lt;span class="mw-headline" id="Precursi.C3.B3n_de_la_fotograf.C3.ADa"&gt;Precursión de la fotografía&lt;/span&gt; &lt;span style="font-size: small; font-weight: normal; float: none; margin-left: 0px;" class="editsection"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/h3&gt; &lt;p&gt;El amor le llegó en 1920 una vez instalado en Berlín. Allí conoció a la que en un futuro se convertiría en su esposa, Lucía Schulz (más conocida como &lt;a href="http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lucia_Moholy" title="Lucia Moholy"&gt;Lucia Moholy&lt;/a&gt;). La pareja experimentó al máximo la fotografía y realizaron interesantes fotogramas, los cuales datan de 1922 y alcanzaron la fama.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;Un año más tarde, la escuela Bauhaus elige a Moholy-Nagy para que se haga cargo del taller de trabajos de Metal. Posteriormente, el director del curso, Johannes Itten, abandonó la escuela y Moholy-Nagy ocupó su cargo. Por medio de un motor, en este método se realiza una asociación de formas de diferentes materiales, que son iluminadas para que provoque un efecto de sombreado concreto. Moholy-Nagy hace chocar estas formas a través de un movimiento continuo. Este trabajo repercutió decisivamente en su vinculación con la escultura y con las investigaciones fotográficas del momento.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;La búsqueda de sombras distintas y de tintineo de Moholy-Nagy supuso una gran innovación en el terreno del arte luminoso cinético, ya que &lt;a href="http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alexander_Rodchenko" title="Alexander Rodchenko" class="mw-redirect"&gt;Alexander Rodchenko&lt;/a&gt; había trabajado previamente con un modulador en el que sólo se buscaban sombras.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;h3&gt; &lt;span class="mw-headline" id=".C3.9Altimos_a.C3.B1os"&gt;Últimos años&lt;/span&gt; &lt;span style="font-size: small; font-weight: normal; float: none; margin-left: 0px;" class="editsection"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/h3&gt; &lt;p&gt;En el año 1937, Moholy-Nagy emigró hacia &lt;a href="http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chicago" title="Chicago"&gt;Chicago&lt;/a&gt; donde se puso al frente de una escuela de diseño a la que llamó "&lt;a href="http://es.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Nuevo_Bauhaus&amp;amp;action=edit&amp;amp;redlink=1" class="new" title="Nuevo Bauhaus (aún no redactado)"&gt;Nuevo Bauhaus&lt;/a&gt;". Pero la iniciativa no próspero y Moholy-Nagy cerró las puertas de su escuela sólo un año más tarde. photographer and painter noted for the spontaneous, joyful photographs he took beginning in his boyhood and continuing throughout his life. Born into a prosperous French family, Lartigue was given at age seven a large-plate camera that he operated by standing on a stool. He received a Brownie No. 2, a handheld camera, as a gift the following year. Lartigue's boyhood photographs were almost always candid images taken of his family and friends. His upper-middle-class upbringing exposed him to varied and interesting scenes for his pictures. Lartigue studied painting at the Académie Julian in Paris from 1915 to 1916 and would always consider himself a painter first and foremost. It was nevertheless as a photographer that he would establish his reputation. In the 1910s and '20s Lartigue enthusiastically photographed such subjects as automobile races, fashionable ladies at the seashore and the park, and kite flying. These photographs, with their informal approach to everyday subjects, reveal his free spirit and love of life, rather than a concern for photographic technique and craft, and often capture a sense of movement. He generally worked in black and white, but during this period he also experimented with the recently developed Autochrome colour process, which satisfied his painterly interests. In the 1930s and '40s he continued to capture images of middle-class leisure that, like his earlier images, display a charm and joy that is detached from the traumas of world war. He continued to photograph into his 90s, and he extended his settings to include England and the United States during this later period. Lartigue's oeuvre was rediscovered by art historians in the early 1960s and shown at a Museum of Modern Art exhibit in New York City in 1963. His photographs were acclaimed in part because of their departure from the formal, posed portraits that had been typical of early photography and also because of their ingenuous charm. In the early years of his lengthy career, his then-unorthodox camera angles, and his unwillingness to compromise his personal photographic style, prevented his work from gaining wider recognition. Even towards the end of his life, Kertész did not feel he had gained worldwide recognition. The first photographer to have an exposition devoted to his work, he is recognized as one of the seminal figures of photojournalism, if not photography as a whole. Dedicated by his family to work as a stock broker, Kertész was an autodidact and his early work was mostly published in magazines. This would continue until much later in his life when he ceased to accept commissions. He served briefly in WWI and began to form dreams to move to Paris, which he realised in 1925, against the wishes of his family. There he was involved with the artistic melting pot of immigrates and the dadaist movement, and achieved critical and commercial success. The imminent threat of WWII pushed him to immigrate again to the United States, where he had a more difficult life and needed to rebuild his reputation through commissioned work. He would take offense with several editors that he felt did not recognize his work. In the 1940s and '50s he stopped working for magazines and began achieved greater international success. Despite the numerous and awards he collected over the years, he still felt unrecognized, a sentiment which did not change even into his death. His career is general divided into four periods based on where his work was most prominent at these times.
